Damien finished the season 6th in scoring at 19.4ppg, (2nd) in asst 4.1, (1st) in FG% 62.1, (1st) in FT% 87.6, (7th) in reb 5.6, (3rd) in minutes 35.6 mpg, (4th) 3 pt% 40.0%. Because of these stats, Damien is one of the top candidates for league MVP, which will be announced shortly.

Congratulations to Ryan Williams aka SPECIAL FX for winning the
2008 SLAM Magazine/Dunkman of Year Championship at the US Airways Center, the home of Shaq and the Suns, on Thursday, April 17.
To earn the title of the "2008 Dunkman of the Year", Special FX flew over FIVE FANS standing single-file in the lane and did a wrap-around behind the back 360 dunk: both earning perfect scores from the judges who included Shaquille O'Neal and NBA Dunk Champion, Cedric Ceballos.
In addition to the title, he earned $10,000 and will be featured in an ad in SLAM Magazine.

Boca's 102-99(OT) win over Atenas in the semi-finals of the Super 8
Tournament. The finals will be Boca against Penarol. The top eight
teams in Argentina's Liga Nacional first stage are due to begin
fighting it out for the Super 8 title. Juventud Sionista, who finished
top of the North Zone will meet Boca Juniors in the quarter-finals. In
the opening round of the Super 8 Tournament in Argentina, Boca beat
Juventud Sionista 63-62 and will play Atenas in the semi-finals. The
finals wil take place on Sunday the 26th.

Spillers wins the MVP while helping to lead Boca Juniors to the
championship title in the SACHAM or the South American Basketball Clubs
Championship against other professional teams from all over South
America. The 2006 South American Clubs Championship was played at Domo
Bolivariano of Barquisimeto, Venezuela, from October 18th-22nd. The
teams which competed were Guerreros de Lara (Venezuela), Boca Juniors
(Argentina), Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia (Argentina),
Universo BRB (Brazil), Deportivo San Jose (Paraguay) and Universidad
Catolica (Chile).
In helping to lead his team to the
championship, the MVP, Maurice scored a game-high 32 points while
making 14 out of 14 shots including 1 for 1 from 3-point range in
Boca's 97-85 victory over Guerreros de Lara of Venezuela. In the
earlier rounds, Maurice scored 12 points (Boca Juniors (ARG) 78 -
Deportivo San Jose (PARAGUAY) 62) ; 22 points (Boca Juniors (ARG) 76 -
Universo BRB (BRAZIL) 74) ;17 points (Boca Juniors (ARG) 91 - Gimnasia
y Esgrima (ARG) 78 and 12 points (Boca Juniors (ARG) 94 - Universidad
Catolica (Chile) 67.

Spillers started for the first time in Boca and he responded with a 24
points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals performance, as Boca won 99-89 in Bahia
Blanca visiting Estudiantes. He was also named as one of the top five
players of round 4 in Argentina by LatinBasket for his performance.

Former Tide Stars Are In NBA Summer Leagues Release: 07/14/2006
Kenny Walker,
a 2003 Alabama graduate and four-year veteran as the Tide’s starting
center/forward is one of two former Alabama players who returned to
California to play in the NBA’s Summer Pro League. Walker, who has been
playing in Europe since graduation, is playing for the second straight
year for “Play 2 Win.” Like his former UA teammate and 2002 SEC Player
of the Year Erwin Dudley, Walker played in the Turkish league this past
season. His summer league play runs July 8-22 and has included a 25
points and 12 rebounds night July 12. Walker is a starter for his team.

Former Tide Player Kenny Walker On Summer Pro League Champion

07/26/2005 TUSCALOOSA – Former Crimson Tide forward/center Kenny Walker scored 34 points and had 11 rebounds in a semifinal to help lead the Play2Win-Delta Jammers to the agent league championship at the prestigious Southern California Pro League. Based in Long Beach, Calif., the SPL includes both NBA and agent teams like Walker’s Play2Win team which went a perfect 8-0 in its play.
Walker, who graduated from Alabama in 2003 with a communications degree to cap his senior playing season, was a starter all four seasons for the Crimson Tide, including its 2002 Southeastern Conference champion team. The Jacksonville, Fla., native has had a successful past year in professional basketball overseas. Walker was named all-league and an all-star in Sweden then went to Kosovo where he was named MVP for leading his team to the championship.
